ABOUT US

HISTORY - Small company, big ideals

Originally owned and operated by John and Melissa Ziech, RecycleBoxBin was established in 2010 to provide an affordable recycling program solution for schools and offices. The focus was to make a simple, smart, flexible & great looking product with as much recycled content as possible. The business opened its doors in 2011 at 401 Hall St. in Grand Rapids, MI and in October 2017, expanded and moved to 3555 32nd Street, in Grand Rapids, where it still resides today.

John Ziech, a former Facilities Design Director at Steelcase, Inc., who after retiring, decided to pursue his passion for design and sustainability, came up with the original design and unique labeling system. He and his wife, Melissa Ziech, a former teacher, owned and operated RecycleBoxBin for 10 years.

From the beginning, John and Melissa established a reputation for personal service, strong work ethics, and delivering quality products with a hands-on approach. These qualities continue to be the benchmark of our company.

In 2020, under the leadership of Sarah Pfeiffle, daughter of John and Melissa Ziech, the company was purchased by Recycling Products, LLC (DBA RecycleBoxBin). Now, in the second generation of family ownership, Sarah and her husband Andrew, plan to position the company as a recognized leader in sustainable recycling products and keep the heritage of providing quality, affordable, customizable and visually appealing products to their customers.

We strive to integrate our organization's social, environmental, and economic policies in our products to minimize, or eliminate, their negative impact on our global resources. We are a near zero landfill user at our site.

We will continue to strive to build on the qualities upon which the company was founded while remaining at the forefront of innovation in an ever-changing industry.
